Ok all this is now getting very silly. I raise tickets answering the questions Im asked to. I then get asked the same questions over and over despite already giving the correct answers. I change my router and it still happens. This weekend i have had 3-4 disconnections. My speed as you will see improved for a short time then reduced again.
This must be addressed.:

Today

20.08.08 (from ticket raised.
BBC ping of 51 ADSL24 ping of 50. Both of these used to be 35-40. I have restarted my router no avail.
http://speedtest.bbmax.co.uk Gives a download speed of 532kbps and upload of 379kbps. My normal download speed is around 6500 and upload as is.
This has been the same for 2 days now.

Yeah I ran the BTspeedtest:

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Your DSL connection rate: 6272 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 5500 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 4863 kbps

But ping this morning reads 115!!!

SN Margin of 14.5! I'm not sure it should be that high for that Attenuation. The problems are more likely to be more to do with your telephone line rather than something ADSL24's side IMO.

BTW, I know you've said that you changed your router (sorry if you've been asked before) but did you also try changing the filter and plugging into into the test socket? Also, i wouldn't worry too much about the pings on speedtest, command prompt is a hell of a lot more accurate (my pings are 16 to enta.net and speedtest is saying 50+).

What do other people think about these stats?

Thanks for the advice. Yes i did the tests mentioned and spent money on a good filter's. ADSL24 said last time this happened that BT said all was fine with my line.

I'm getting poor results from Maidenhead (ping over 200 speed around 1000) but better ones from the London server

I personally would not go by what speedtest.net says about your ping time
i always use the ping command at Command Prompt

ping bbc.co.uk

With the amount of people with problems and the locations of us all being different I can't see it being problems at our ends.

Exchange test also comes back clean.

You have an IP profile of 135, so the problem is definitely not to do with ADSL24/Entanet. The connection between your router and the exchange has dropped at some point and reconnected at a very slow rate, reducing your IP profile to 135 in the process. Stay connected for a few days at your current sync rate and the IP profile will rise to 5000.

Same thing happening over here in the Southeast.

I can't do a BT speed test because the Java gives a cracked error message, it goes to 96% then the error message comes up.

Although, at times I am getting 2000 or slightly over that, at other times the speed registers 560 then picks up.

I have changed my filter, using the BT MF50, done full diagnostics on the router, all passed and synced this morning at 4448 with DSMargin at 4 (raining at present. No real problem with this router because it holds sync at 0.

So if this is not an ADSL24 problem, not an Entanet problem, and BT are blind, deaf and dumb, it must be all of us that have faulty equipment.

I am taking this opportunity to upgrade my filter and am getting one with transistors.

By the way I had a new line put in (in May) and am plugged straight into master switch with only one phone connected (I disconnect this at times).

I have been getting speeds of 3500 and 4000 consistently since the new line was in and no drop outs.

Will someone at ADSL24 advise us what we should do, this situation is really bothering a lot of your customers.

I get that with Firefox but it works OK with IE7.

If you go to Kitz and find the BT W link, and click on that, it works fine on Firefox 3.0.1

How come the Kitz link works for me every time but none of the others do? I never use IE and have IE 6. It did not even open up the speed site for me.
