Hi All,

Migration went very well, immediately websites loaded like they should. Tiscali was more like waiting for a mail pigeon to deliver the site at my door.

my bras profile is something like this:

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 2000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 7456 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1803 kbps

Could this be due to a prob with my modem? its just a thomsom 330 usb thing. Or will this improve in the next days? Still in the 10 days period. I am quite close to the exchange and no congestion there?

Cheers

Its normal to be like that. Wait until the 10 days are up and you should be getting the top speed :)

You are almost connecting at the full 8meg!

A router really would help though...

thanks for the quick reply, will look into a router. Otherwise very happy with the connection! Can`t believe the change was so immediate.

Just shows you what the difference is between the overloaded *big name* ISP's...

Also newly joined (love the lower latency to the US as I use VOIP based there). Apparently BT will use any excuse to reset your IP profile :) I switched from a previous provider's Max Adsl to the good folks here and of course BT dropped me back down to 2Mb. It's going to be a slow 10 days, but should be worth it if I can conisistantly get speeds over 3Mb with ADSL24 (after the 10 days of course, at the moment I'm seeing between 700k and 1.2M, but I'm confident that it'll get better :) )

FWIW my test results:

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 2000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8096 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1806 kbps

Cheers,
Ben
