I have been a customer since April, having been with nildram/tiscali before that.

Started off fine, but the last few weeks have been terrible. Daytime download speeds are around half what they should be, and i get disconnected every single evening at peak time, sometimes many times in one evening.

I can deal with lower dl speeds (although i shouldn't have to), but the disconnections are unacceptable. I hope you are doing some kind of maintenance/upgrades and this isn't normal service.

yes i have, but im not expecting it to achieve anything. All i know is that if one ISP is stable and another disconnects every hour then the problem is the ISP.

Ain't necessarily so. I escaped from Tiscali. I had a connection that kept disconnecting & being stupidly slow. Following coming to ADSL24 & a swift ticket, they got a BT man out who stuck a bit of chewing gum & some tin-foil onto a junction box conection.

Voila - nice stable conection.

The morale here is - have patience young jedi!

Its actually a BT fault in the exchange, and we have raised a fault. If you want an update tonight give the support team a bell, otherwise we will give you one tomorrow.

Just checking - course if you can give the hamsters wheel that runs my line a spot of oil I'd not complain;)
