Hi Folks

I am hoping to move to adsl24 very soon, but was wondering when it best to ask for my MAC in-order to move here
My next billing date is the 9th of the month

Any feed back would be appreciated

Thanks
Simon

Hello Troon guy.

OK this is how it works.

You ask Plusnet for your MAC, I was given it within a day along with the phone call asking why you're leaving and to get you to stay with them. Once they have given it to you that's the start of your 30 days notice period. So you give the MAC to your new provider and move to them within say 10 days. ( I was on IP Stream not sure about LLU).
After 30 days and up to your next billing period date they will refund that amount of days money back to you.
If you owe them any deferred fees they take that as soon as they've given you your MAC. I mean straight away, after they've talked to you on the phone.

You won't regret leaving, secret throttling and poor customer service is not my idea of a good ISP.

They say they are "soon" going to cancel any deferred fees if you've been with them longer than a year.
Unfortunately they say lots of things.

Good luck with your move.

This ISP is a million times better than Plusnet.

Hi

Thanks for your reply

I agree with your sentiments about plusnet. It is a shame as they used to be a good isp. I have been with them 3 years, but the last 18 months has been difficult and I have been one of the ones on PAYGO acount, but still found things slow and customer support was/is pathetic

Anyway, hope to be over there soon

Thanks
Simon

PAYGO is supposed to be the good one,I was on BB+ the one they kept secretly throttling 'cos they had insufficient capacity.

Be prepared for the phone call to tell you how good they are going to be shortly if you just stay with them a little longer.

Have this heard so many times before though and as I told them last night.

"I am no-longer willing to wait on them making promises and then not delivering"

Now awaiting the call though, but more importantly. My MAC code!!!!!!

Well, had just finished my previous reply and then plusnet phoned.

And yes, you've guessed it pineapplejack, they started with. "I would just like to discuss...."

I was ready for him though and politely informed him that I was no longer willing to be patient with plusnet and there promises did not mean anything to customers anymore. "So could I please just have my MAC code please"

So hopefully I will be able to register with adsl24 in next couple of days

Regards
Simon

Simon - good luck - hope you're not on tiscali LLU like I was even though I was with plusnet I was on the LLU  .

Anyway I think lots of people will come to adsl24 as they seem very good - especially from support or responses to online questions, queries, etc.

I've signed up and can't wait now for the 16/4/2007 when mine is scheduled for activation according to my account information.

Cecil.
