My speed has been very slow for the past couple of weeks now.
Sometimes it's unusable.

I will raise a ticket but wondered if advice could be offered for my issue.

Speedtester.bt reports:
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Your DSL connection rate: 160 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 350 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 114 kbps

bbmax reports:
Download Speed: 139 kbps (17.4 KB/sec ) Upload Speed: 383 kbps (47.9 KB/sec )

Also, is there a dialup connection number that we can use to get online when we have issues?

Thanks

Whoa, that's a low sync speed ... your IP profile should actually be 135 Kbps with a sync of 160 kbps.

Has the sync remained low or has it started to rise again?

If the sync speed has increased already then the IP profile should increase fairly rapidly,
and at the absolute most it should take 3-5 days to rise.

However if you still have low sync then you will need to provide the following details:

Your current IP profile
[From another BT speedtest (http://speedtester.bt.com)]

The line Sync speed
[As reported in the Max Line Reports section of 'My Account']

It is worth posting details from several of the registered sync events,
to give a better indication of what has been happening with your IP profile recently

Router Sync speed / Line Attenuation / Line SNR margin
[If you don't know how to locate these details, you can look up your router here (http://www.dslzoneuk.net/adsl_line_stats.php)]

Router stats like Dae said would be a good first thing...

Router stats from Friday when I carried out the tests as above were:

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin 9.8 19.0 dB
Line Attenuation 51.6 28.5 dB
Errored Seconds 106 7
Loss of Signal 1 1
Loss of Frame 0 0
CRC Errors 459 7
Data Rate 160 448 kbps
Latency INTERLEAVED INTERLEAVED

The speed started to pick up yesterday (Sunday).

Today I now have:

speedtester.bt:
Your DSL connection rate: 1952 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 1250 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1093 kbps

bbmax reports:
Download Speed: 1191 kbps (148.9 KB/sec ) Upload Speed: 384 kbps (48 KB/sec )

router stats:

ADSL STATUS

Showtime Firmware Version: 3.24
Line State: SHOWTIME
Modulation: G.dmt
Annex Mode: ANNEX_A
Startup Attempts: 1
Max Tx Power: -38 dBm/Hz
CO Vendor: TEXAS_INSTRUMENTS
Elaspsed Time: 0 days 9 hours 12 minutes 6 seconds

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin 13.9 19.0 dB
Line Attenuation 52.1 28.5 dB
Errored Seconds 21 20
Loss of Signal 0 0
Loss of Frame 0 0
CRC Errors 28 44
Data Rate 1952 448 kbps
Latency INTERLEAVED INTERLEAVED

I have not done anything that could have increased my line speed.
I fully anticipate it to drop low again because that is what is happening, a good couple of days and then a bad couple of days.

Any advice is fully appreciated.

Thankyou.
