Hello everyone,

I know that I have only just migrated to adsl24 8 meg (on tuesday the 3rd april) but my isp profile is stuck at 2000 kps which is limiting myself to in effect 2 meg broadband. Is there anything I can do to change the ip profile for my line or do I just have to wait the 10 day period for everything to settle down. I read somewhere else that turning your modem off would help (it is a netgear dg834) but i do turn that off every night. Many thanks for your help.

You should really leave it switched on during your training period otherwise you risk ending up with a low profile at the end. It should sort itself out by the end of the 10 days but if you still have a profile of 2000kbps after that you can raise a ticket with support and they will report it to BT :)

It was 3rd day of trial period before my speed went above 2mb when it increased to 8mb.
I have same router as you and left it connected all trial period.

Yep, what the others say :)

Every line that migrates usually ends up on the 2000 kbps profile for at least a few days. As you say, until the 10 days are over BT will not accept any fault reports so we just have to hope it rises itself and if not we'll log it with BT on day 10.

Let us know.

Sometimes 10 days is a short period to wait for your profile to change. Switch of router, leave it on, makes no difference. If it's stuck at 2000kbps you're stuck with it until BT sort it out.

Over1 month after migration to ADSL24 and this is what I have.

'BT are having capacity problems at your exchange. They are going to move your actual line card at the exchange to a different part (other side of building) where there is "more" capacity.'

Report it to Help Desk and just wait!

technophobia, in your case, they are moving you to a different port that has more capacity, and BT advise there may be a short downtime while this happens.

Just a heads up :)
