Ive just brought a creative xfi extreme music and have seen on the internet the many problems they have, eg, crackle and pop. Has anyone here got this issue? If so did it happen straight away or over time?

I got mine off ebay (I love ebay) very cheap problem was it was a OEM card
And it only came with basic software and drivers no bells or whistles.

The cards were pulled from Dell computers which means they are custom made
For Dell and the normal retail software will not work.

That is until you alter the install Program with a patch and a bit of faffing about and bobs your uncle it works great
The sound its terrific much better then the creative audigy card

My extreme music is an OEM and it come with all of the software. Which card is it, because if its the XfI extreme audio then that would explain why it does not have all of the software. This is because it is not really an XFI, they just name it that ang give it some xfi components.

£70 gets you a Creative XFI Extreme Music. They have higher spec but its not needed, this is still the card that dell spec on there high end XPS systems.

Do you know where I might be able to find the latest drivers for the X-fi extreme audio OEM card that Evesham have put in my Windows Vista PC - it's an Evesham Solar Storm Plus. I can't get the 5.1 surround working with the drivers I have installed (only 2.1)?

Yes, like the link above there are vista drivers but they are certainly not up to speed. Because of a complete rebuild of the vista audio engine creative have had to start fresh with drivers and are currently lagging behind quite a bit.

Thanks for the link. Bit dubious about using these beta drivers at the moment, I'll stay on the lookout and wait till further development is completed.
