No its not just you, I am synced at 6500 and have a 258kbps DL speed at the moment. The bizarre thing is that BT Speedtest has me at 5772Kbps!!

Highest my sync has been is 4000, if it carries on like this much longer I will be off to a different ISP.

Hi WS,
Perhaps you should post your line stats...
With an IP profile that's all over the place and multiple disconnections it is more than likely that your SNR Margin is dropping below 6dB and that this is causing the low re-sync's and loss of connection.
Please post the following:
Router Sync speed / Line Attenuation / Line SNR margin
[If you don't know how to locate these details, you can look up your router here (http://www.dslzoneuk.net/adsl_line_stats.php)]

BT will not accept any test results apart from their own in relation to a speed fault.
With that upstream I would stick different filters and a different router on via the test socket. Remove the faceplate off the master socket to stick it in the test..

Hi WS,
Glad to hear that things had improved slightly this morning.
Looking at your posted line stats however there would seem to be an issue with your upstream SNR Margin,
it is very low at 7/6dB and is the most likely the cause of the line drop-outs and re-sync's.
And normally the upstream margin would also be a lot higher than a downstream margin,
so this is where you should start looking for the problem.
The first thing to do, if you haven't already done so, is to try another ADSL filter as James was suggesting to JoeDavid.
Also try to use a decently manufactured filter and avoid some of the cheapo ones that are often bundled with certain routers, especially the type that looks like a normal BT line splitter as they are not very good at separating the ADSL signal from the phone signal.
The filters or filtered faceplate that you can buy from ADSLnation are very good, as are the ones made by Pressac
who manufacture BT's own sockets and filter's.
I think that the filtered faceplate that the ADSL24 shop is stocking could very well be the Pressac one?
If you have tried a new known to be working filter and find that there has been no improvement in the line stats the next thing to try is borrowing/stealing another router from a neighbour/friend/family member etc to see if there is a problem with the router your currently using.
Hopefully one of the above options will solve the issues :)

Hi Dae
Have tried using a brand new filter(came with a friends BT router) and still get the same results on the speedtest connected to test socket.
http://www.adslnation.com/phpapps/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=54
£8.99 is a bit steep for a filter right?
Will try borrow a router from friend if I can.
Thanks for the info. :)
Just a little bit steep, should be able to get them for a quid or two from decent places..

I own that filter and it's better than the your usual ones. Less drops and little more speed.
