I am considering migrating over here from another entanet provider at the minute. See the thing is my line seems to be messed up at the minute with me getting very high pings in games such as World of Warcraft a lot (every 5mins) and even to the extend of me getting disconnected. It has even been affecting my normal internet too with slow web browsing for my wired main computer and two other people who connect to it through wireless. The strange thing is i can still get decent downloads (300-500kb) even though they are below my usual 700-800kb but i know my exchange is in the red and BT are too lazy to even look at it. Ive been told its my hardware and my problem but i swapped my routers about, tried the master socket, different ethernet ports and all. And it does go back to normal at times with my pings in WoW returning to 60-140 etc then it all goes to hell again at some other time.

I was wondering if i migrate between entanet resellers will my line "renew" itself or something like that. And if not would you help me out with my problem please :P

Have you asked your ISP to turn off Interleaving on your line?

If you transfer to use from another Entanet reseller no line re-training is done as it doesn't go through the BT system, it's an internal migration.

It was something i was considering before my line went tits up and i didnt want to do it in case it made my pings worse since i was satisfied with the 140ms at the time compared to its 400+ counterpart now lol. I might have to ask them to try that.

Well about me saying my download was fine must of jinxed it as 15mins later my internet had another relapse lol.

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 485 kbps

Thanks anyway James.

Ouch @ 485 Kbps. Sounds like it could be packet loss or bad MTU settings.

Have you tried another PC to rule that out?

It looks like interleave is already turned off

His profile of 7150 kbps suggests interleaving is still on ;)

Had a bit too much chocolate Robbie? ;) :D

Nope, 7150 is the maximum on Fast mode, not Interleaved. You can't get 7150 normally on Interleaved as 7616 is the max SYNC rate.

Had way too much chocolate SC!

Not had any chocolate yet!!!! ... no one bought me an easter egg :(

Think I'm getting a tad confused with sync speed and profiles ... must be too much sun ;) :p

yea 3 computers use the router and are all suffering the same problems unfortunately :(. Even went back to my old router for a day to rule that out but still no dice. MTU on the netgear was 150, and the draytek it was 1442 because apparently setting it to 1500 messed with msn etc. But ive changed it now anyway to see if anything happens. Dont think it will though since the netgear was 150. This is too troublesome lol.

About the interleaving, i never requested it off, so im not too sure if it is on or off.

It's definitely off (or set to Auto) as your router can only connect at a max of 7616 when it's on and you're on the full 8128.

ah right cheers. Also i do remember when it was really bad at times i did get about 3 or 4 of packet loss "*"s in the trace route. All my hardware is under a year old and ive tried changing all of it about with what i used previously that worked. It was working up till three weeks ago so i should probably give up now and stop playing WoW and the surfing is somewhat bareable. And probably stop bothering you with my questions since your not even my isp :P.

Thanks for the help so far James but this problem of mine seems like a lost cause :/.
