Hello,

You may have seen a few of my posts asking pre sales questions before, but my dad wanted some clarifaction - so here are some of his questions, straight from the horse's mouth so-to-speak! :p

Number of questions,

1. Is the migration seamless? I.E. no interuption of service.

2. No duplication. I.E current provider (BT) and yourself duplicated, whereby both are trying to connect down one line.

3. Do we have to inform BT of cancellation, as to the date?

4. Can we ensure a single service. I.E. We will have atleast one broadband provider?

Thanks for the help.

1. The migration is usually seamless. On migration day you enter your new username and password into your router, reboot and that should be it. This has to happen after your line has been migrated which could be anytime up to 8pm. Unfortunately BT do not give specific times. See 2

2. Recently it has been noticed that either your old or new login will work for a short period of time. On migration day you could ask us to inform you when we receive notice from BT that migration has been completed.

3. No. All we need is the MAC code. Once you are migrated you are automatically "cancelled" from your old provider

4. Provided there are no mistakes by the engineers then yes but these are not our engineers

Also, I'd make sure you ring up the old ISP after you've migrated to us just to confirm with them that you've moved so they don't continue to bill you.
