View Full Version : Hello from Wales
Hi all
I'm migrating to ADSL24 as from this coming Friday.
I'm another escapee from Plusnet. After many good years with them, I have had to say goodbye after the rapid decline in service since November.
I'm currently with Zen, who have been good, but way too expensive for the rather basic service offered.
I'm 45 ish, have lived all over the UK, but currently living in West Wales. Keen football fan, but like all sorts of other things as well!
Usual wife, kids and cat set-up, self-underemployed, etc etc!
Look forward to taking part in this forum.
Best wishes

welcome to ADSL24 MikeyK.
Keith,
Thanks Keith. I lived in Sheffield for 8 and half years, in fact my three children were all born there. We left in 2000, but still have friends in the city who we keep in touch with.

Hello MikeyK I live in Oughtibridge and as you know Sheffield is a great place with fantastic countryside, I also have long lost relatives on my mothers side who lived in Swansea, and to top it all I support Sheffield United but the best team on the day won. ;)
Keith.

Yes, but not quite as far west as you - I'm in Glamorgan.

I grew up in Boverton, just outside Llantwit Major.

There always been a lot of links between Sheffield and Swansea. I remember many many years ago when Owls fans were banned from travelling to away games and the Sheffield Star (I worked for them for a long time) ran a feature on how Sheffielders were getting tickets from friends and families in Swansea for a match between the two teams.
As for the SCFC v SUFC match, well I felt sorry for Blades fans because it was dismal performance. I blame Wharnock myself! ;)
Swansea fans were full of praise for the SUFC fans, and even Sheffield police! Nice to see that after all the bad press footy fans normally get.

I'm in West Glamorgan, but I suppose it's not that far away.

Towards Swansea then?
Yes, on the way to the Gower.
Small world, my dad lives just outside Swansea on the way to Gower. My first job after leaving school was in the tearooms at Rhosilli.
