Random Disconnects

Hi,

Whilst online, about every 2-3 hours, my connection will disconnect. I say disconnect, but i'm not really sure what is happening.

The little globe will still be present on the little computer icons in the taskbar, and my xbox will still connect to Xbox Live, but all attempts to check email or load a webpage will result in errors as if there is no connection, but there must be if the xbox will connect to Live. The laptops are also unable to connect.

Can anyone offer some suggestions on what the problem may be?

I'm using a D-Link DSL-G604T router.

Could be a very slow connection. Are you connected by cable or wireless? Are you trying to upload/download stuff at the same time as check mail/load pages?

The main PC is connected by cable. I very rarely download anything of note, only things up to around 5MB a time and that is only occasionally.

Whenever i do a speed test, i regularly get speeds of 5MB-6MB.

Totally pissed off with disconnections and slowness in the evening ..that's two ebay bargains of the century I've missed :(...in the last couple of days .

its not my comp or my equipment ...cause it only happens after 5:30.

about 10 disconnects tonight ...and about 10 last night !!!

Dare i say it ...its getting like tiscali !
