Ok, I'm starting to wonder if there is something wrong with my internet.
Ok I live about 1.3/1.4 miles as the crow flies from my exchange. I know there is no way I can get the full 8mb max speed. This is the result of BT Tester at roughly 16:00

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 2500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 3328 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2276 kbps
I thought ok thats not terrible but why slow speeds.
After checking my max reports on the my account page I currently have 31 reports of speed changes. First is this normal?
Secondly the speed reports usually seem to change 2-3 times in the one day, then sometimes its ok for a week and does it again.
e.g.
BT IPStream Max 4544 - Auto 08/03/2007 17:46:42
BT IPStream Max 4000 - Auto 08/03/2007 18:44:10
BT IPStream Max 3424 - Auto 08/03/2007 21:43:10
Is this normal?
Also my router has never stayed connected for 24hours it will disconnect at least once a day, im not fussed about that because it reconnects in about 10-30 secs. But why does it do this?
I have a few things i also want to check with my phone line.
Right the Telegraph pole is outside my house.
Because the house is actually 2 houses and a business connected together, we have 2 phone lines coming in to the building, 1 is for just for 1 house the other we use for house and business. The house and business one is old, it doesn't come directly into the building (unlike the new one which was fitted about 2 years ago i think), instead it goes from pole to a box on the outside then inside to another box then to the master BT socket, which is also old.
The House/Business one is the one we use for internet.
Would anyone say that this ok or should it be changed?
I know this is allot of info to reply to but any help would be greatly appreciated as i have very little knowledge of Broadband..
P.S. Interleaving has been on since about end of January, is this normal? (i assumed because of the problems I originally had)
Also the internet seems to be faster over the weekends? not sure why?
