View Full Version : So How long do we wait?

I have been very patient over the past months, with the excessively slow speeds.

Its been 8weeks now that I have had major problems, despite some good days, it seems that now we are on Nodes the speeds of less than 1mbps still exist.

I don't mind giving adsl24 the benefit of the doubt and James has been helpful in keeping us informed. However fact remains that the service we are getting is total pants.

What I'm asking is How Long should we wait?
All I want is speeds above 2mbps anything greater than that up to the ipprofile is a plus. What I don't want is speeds so slow that nothing can be done on line

This speed at 23:44 on a thursday night when there is minimal load on the node I am on is not right

If you are thinking of joining ADSL24 - Don't
If you are already here, you have my sympathy

You didn't put a poll option for "I'm not happy with speeds but will wait" :P

I'm perfectly happy to schedule my downloads to whenever suits, so although poor speeds at times is annoying, it isn't stopping me doing anything. I also would prefer a slow but honest service that is trying to fix things, than a (maybe) slightly faster service that throttles and doesn't care about customers.

Pretty much when it comes down to it the only way you can get a better service is with LLU, and with the options at my exchange that would mean a 12 month contract.

My speeds have improved recently if anything.

so although poor speeds at times is annoying, it isn't stopping me doing anything.

That's where I'm different, when the speed goes down to between 400-900kbps I can not use the Internet, It's stopping me doing everything that I do online.
Watching online video
listing to audio podcasts
Playing games
The speeds are so slow that it is painful to surf the web, and if I have two computers connected or a console I can forget it.

Scheduling downloads is not a problem, and the speed they come down at is not an issue. But if every time I go online I am unable to use the connection to do the things I want to, and should be able to do then it is annoying.

Having speeds reduced to such a low level is an extreemly silly practice imho. They should at least have some level of service that enables you to be able to watch a video etc.

Anyway If you want to wait I hope that works for you, I've been waiting and 2months later I'm still in the same situation, so excuse the rant

My speeds have improved recently if anything.

Mine were fine the other day, but now there down again, I hope yours stay up.

:) changed over to nodes yesterday and my speed is about the same.
pings are a bit higher but not a problem as I don't do any gaming.
have not had any speed problem of late and has been very stable

I do not think this is acceptable. You have had your say in multiple other threads. There is a problem, things are being worked on.
