Hi,
new to ADSL24 about 2 and a half weeks now..
I was given a block of 8 static IP's but I dont really no how to use them...
I have a netgear WPN824 wireless router, I've entered settings under the static routes menu but the last entry instead of the last digit on the desitination IP becoming what i enter it shows up as 0...
I cant seem to get it working, the main reason I want this to work is because I hate rapidshare but have to download a number of large archives from it over the nxt few days >.<

You would generally only use static routes if you have a second router on your internal network and you needed traffic from the Internet to be able to be sent to machines on the other side of the router. They are not necessary for the operation of the 8 IP block.
To answer the question about the last digit this is because routes are setup to entire subnets, not individual PCs and if you're using one of the standard 192.x.x.x subnets the address for the entire subnet is 192.x.x.0 so the router is correcting your mistake for you.

Oh right ok then.
Well I have these IP's and I'd like to use them to bypass RS's stupid system of waiting so apart from manually entering it to my laptops wireless is ther any other method I can have for swapping IP's quickly?
I use 192.168.1.2 in my router as a static ip for the laptop because i port forward a few apps I use..
Assign your router the "router IP" displayed in your block of 8 IP's. So, change the routers LAN IP to 87.xxx.xxx.xxx from 192.168.xxx.xxx
Then give your PC's any of the available other 5 WAN IP's in your block (not the first or last one as these are unusable)
This then gives each PC it's own external IP and a straight through connection
You'll generally need to turn off NAT on the router though.

Right ok tried to do this and it doesnt work but apparently I need to turn off NAT...and i cant find the setting for it.
I dont see NAT settings but I see RIP as off and so on, I have no idea what to do!
I am using a WPN824 version 1 >.<
