View Full Version : Today's the day!
Well, After 5 months of stressing over my internet connect (damn you virgin!) today is the day my connection should swap over to the wonderful people at ADSL24.
I'm just sat here attempting to do some accounting revision whilst checking every half an hour or so to see if my username / pass will work yet. No luck so far...
Wish it would just change over and be done with all this waiting! Man I hope this sorts out the problems I've been having. it's been so frustrating. you don't realise how much a good stable connection means to you until you have a bad one :(
If you was not on maxadsl with virgin once the change over happens you should see your speeds go through the roof, hopefully just keep doing a speed test
both providers will be on the same line.
When this happens you have been maxed to adsl24, now you can do one of two things go mad and download the internet :) depending how long virgin stay on your line, or change your password user name and forget about virgin……
both providers will be on the same line.
I don't think this happens every time Mirage. When I changed over, I came downstairs in the morning and my router was showing a red light (no connection), so I typed in my new username and password and bingo. It must have swapped over during the night, but I experienced no overlap.
Just came upstairs and my router had a big flashing red light (lost connection). I typed in adsl24's info and voila! I'm connected to adsl24 now. Any recommendations on speed checking software I can use?
speed is marginally better than virgin atm on downloading a file. just over 200kbp/s.
Is there a period where my connection won't be 100% whilst it settles in or something?
just answered my own question by wandering around the forum. let's hope my connection improves soon then i gues :)

Hello.
I got switched over at lunchtime when I migrated. Hope you are happy with ADSL24.
It might take 10 days to settle down.
Hi Tainted
Try and keep your router (connection) ON for 24/7 during the 10 days.
It will be an uphill/downhill ride but should start to stabilise after a few days.
Flash based speed tests are crap to be honest, but you could try ;

Depending on your actual connection stats ie. distance from exchange/signal to noise ratio etc. you could download at 3-4 times that rate.
Good luck and Welcome
