View Full Version : Disconnect modem
I am going to be having some new electrical wiring installed soon and this will mean that the power has to be turned off. Is there anything I should do regarding my Netgear DG834 modem? It has been connected for about 6 weeks now and left on all the time. Will this power disruption cause any problems with my line and the speed. Are there any precautions that I should take? Any help appreciated.

Just switch the router off in advance. It should cause no issues with you line and speed. Once the power is back on, power up the router and away you go :-)
Thanks for the reply. I had thought that disconnecting a modem caused problems

Not really. It may be wise to just turn off the power to the router as normal and then just plug it back in afterwards etc
