Hey all,

I recently moved over here as mainly because I was getting unplayable pings for online gaming. It would spike up and down from 40 to 140 during the evenings.

Since I moved over a couple of days ago the spiking has now settled thank god. I now get a ping of around 48 to UK servers and 60ish to european servers. which is an improvement.

However where I used to live I would get ping 24 to uk and 42 to european servers and I'd really like to have that back!

Would the training period have an effect on the ping and should it settle down soon?

BTW I live about 2km from my exchange I think and my info from my router is below:

when i type ping www.bbc.co.uk I get solid 40ms whereas in my old house that was like 12 or 16 ms :/

It's because you are on Interleaved mode as opposed to Fast mode (its BT who turn Interleaved on). We can turn Interleaved off for you though if you wish - it takes 48hrs.

48 hours?!!! Try less than 18 hours. BT turned it off at 4am and now my ping is half. Thank you soooo much ADSL24. Really appreciated, let's just hope it stays this good in the evening.

Going to vote on every ISP review site I can find now. So awesome.

I have just migrated to adsl24 today and the reason I did so was to get a better ping. With my previous isp the ping was all over the place come early evening. My ping is now rock solid at around 50 with adsl 24.:)

I have been reading this thread abd was wondering if it would be worth getting interleaving turned off? The problem I have is that I am right on the limit of being able to receive broadband at all do to the distance from the exchange. Would having interleaving turned off cause me more problems than it would solve?

Thanks

The importance of a steady ping should not be underestimated. My pings are around 34ms, this is as good as could be expected

What are you line stats, I'm guessing high 50's low 60's for dl attenuation

Skooby- See how it goes for the first 10 days (as that's the training period) and then we can analyse your line.
