When saving out a JPEG to desktop that has a number as the title eg. 10.jpg 16.jpg etc... I can't preview it. The icon is there on desktop with the correct file size etc...

All other JPEGS with letters in there title are fine eg. television.jpg turnips.jpg

This seems to have happend in the last 3 weeks.....

Im running version 3.0.7

Could anyone help.

Thanks.

I just tested that on FF3.0.7 and its fine.
Are you sure it is actually a JPEG - just because it shows .jpg doesn't mean it is !
Does it open in Photo Editor ?
There are also variations of the JPEG format.
Do they preview if you rename them ?

I have sometimes had a problem when I have used file conversion software, but found if I name the file then all is ok.

Just tried that using "PaintDotNet", Dose not open,, Also tried renaming the/a file in the save out box no luck.. Its madness,,,

I Know my formats, PNG,GIF, Even from my Amiga days. .IFF...

They are Jpegs... I Know they are... what are 99% on the net that is.

Thanks though for the feedback,,,,,,,,

Driving me mad........... I Could kind of understand if I changed My OS etc.........

I suspect that they may be 'jpeg 2000' formats that have been given a jpg extension - these will not preview.
Try opening in something like Paint Shop Pro and forcing a SaveAs in regular jpg format with a a new name.
I doubt the number in the filename has anything to do with it.

Do you always use 'PaintDotNet'?

Nothing to do with file formats, but I noticed the other day when streaming radio etc that I can use BBCi player in FFX 3.07 but not in IE7, whereas previously it worked fine in both browsers :s

Paint Shop Pro got unwieldy and cumbersome, I now use Photofiltre.

As a matter of interest do you have the same problem with other file formats when you use a number as a title rather than a name?

Not as far as I know.
