My BB has gone down at home (I'm at work but got a call from home)
Sync to router etc is fine, but only lcp is allowed to come up.
Tried on the iMac just in case, so not my PC
Told daughter to phone support.
They said it looks as though its an exchange issue and to do the following.
Get into router and change user name & password as follows
User = 01235XXXXXX@startup.domain Password = test
Save & reboot
Connect
Change user name and password back again and reboot
Connect
This unsticks something or other???

Help please - I will have to take home everything I can.

What modem/router is it?
Try power-cycling it first. Unplug, leave for at least 10 secs, re-apply power, see what happens.

Netgear DG834G V4
I'll have to phone home.

Just a thought : adsl24 modem login details were changed on some accounts a while back. Can't remember the exact details but it might be worth searching the forum and trying alternative logon such as (username)@adsl24login.co.uk instead of (username)@adsllogin.co.uk

(later) you can check the correct login on your account details page.

Some more thoughts

It could be due to n exchange, router or phone issue. Either way it's a new one on me if you can solve it yourself by doing what was suggested.

Which support did you contact? adsl24, enta or netgear? I'd have thought the first would have given you the best start at a solution.

Have you got another router to try in case the original is at fault?

Have you unplugged all phones and tried the router in the test socket in case it's a filter/phone problem?

The power cycle helped I think.
I am told that it came back on, then went off after 30min and then came back on again etc.
Now the sync seems to be ok and with an increase of 200K

Maybe BT is messing around. Abingdon exchange went RFS (21CN) on the 30th last.
Change over perhaps although it's not 'due' 'till the 24/25th?

Who knows, it's BT

Sounds like you're up'n'running again, anyway :)

Got home and had a look at my stats @ adsl24
The line dropped out 4 times in total
Anyway my data is now
7616 448 (sync)
16.0 9.0 (att)
14.0 21.0 (snr)

Better than before
7424 kbps 448 kbps
16.0 db 9.0
14.5 db 6.0 db

That upstream snr is lots better
:)

Today (Fri) my wife noticed that there was a 1571 message from Thursday morning. We always forget to check 1571.
It was Stuart from ADSL24 support checking up to see if everything was ok.

That is what I call Support!

Many thanks
