Friend Migrating on the 27th, Just a quick question.

She been with tiscali for 2 months and totally had a lot of bother with them. They even requested Interleaving to be put on, she had a stuck bRAS for a few weeks which only got resolved after speaking to a friend in BTw. The speeds were dire and she only lives 350 meters from the exchange. I replaced basically all of her telephone extention wiring with twisted pair screened cable and moved the router so it was coming from the master box (may still get BT up to change the master to a full size split so she can get a faceplate filter, much better in my experience) She is on the same Exchange as me and i recommended she go with ADSL24 (i'm with Zen, but considering the move also, see how it goes.)

Background over, the question is will Interleaving still be on and will there be a re-train of the line after the migration (would like it)

Currently synced at 7200/448.
LA 13db down & 3db up
Noise Margin 13db down (lowest i've seen it is 8db) & 26db up

Yet at peak she/i was only getting between 400 and 1000 down!
I'm hoping that was just Tiscali and not the line.
Still not sure why she doesn't get a 8128 sync tho.

Piscali (what I call them..) are useless, they suck, pakistani tech support is not worth calling, their forums is the only place thats remotley helpful. I got out as quick as i was able to find a proper ISP (ADSL24 is defo one tbh) and with the ENGLISH tech support they provide its brilliant.

Piscali are crap because they traffic shape hence the many page cannot be displayed errors, the constant msn disconnections every three minutes and the paying of 8meg and only getting 1 if im lucky :)

I had a billing problem sorted out in like minutes!

If i had rang Piscali id still be on the phone :)

After migration there is a setteling period yea, takes ten days, thats where BT or whoever discover the max your line can support without problems which should be pretty much the full 8meg...

On a further ntoe if your friend is to leave them useless pricks get her to go on the tiscali forums, if shes on IPStream(dont ask what it is as i forget >.< ) apparently you can get out of a 12motnh contrat without penalty early if you whien enough for a MAC code, ive seen ppl on there waiting over 6 weeks for a MAC. I was fortunate to get mine in 2 days!

Interleaving is set to "Auto" which means the system will decide if it is necessary but you can request Interleaving to be off if that's what you wish. Just send a ticket to support.

There will be another 10 day training so make sure you've finished tweaking the extensions and that the router is on 24x7
