Hello, i've been on ADSL2+ since the 16th now, and me, and a friend of mine also with ADSL24, are experiencing constant connection dropouts.

There doesn't seem to be any pattern to the drop outs, it can happen within 5 mins of each other, or i can go for a 4 hours without one, and there seems to be no pattern in when it happens (if anything maybe slightly more in the morning than evening, but it still happens). My job needs a constant net connection, and also i enjoy online gaming on my 360, so pretty much the 2 things i pay to have a internet connection have been rended near useless since being "upgraded" to ADSL2+ (just to point out, i haven't experienced any other problems like some uses, but download and upload speeds have improved)

I use a Netgear DG834G, which as far as i'm aware is a highly recommanded one and capable of ADSL2+ fine, my friend uses a different router to this, but i don't know what, but he tells me he's experience the very same drop outs constantly.

I don't wish to leave ADSL24 as they are the best net company i've been with, but as i said my reasons for having the internet are pretty much dead while this problem continues!

Any advice would be greatful, thank you.

Join the throng of angry users.
It's not the fault of ADSL24!

It can get so bad you don't know if you can even update your AV.
I had 46 dropouts on the 27th:(
Many are complaining, tickets raised, telephone calls made and all to no avail.
You can see the adsl24 response for getting away from Enta & BT here

If you look at thinkbroadband forum you will notice a lot of people with the same problems.
Different ISP's with one common link, resellers for Enta.

I am happy to hear its not just my connection - sorry if that sounds harsh, just hopefully get resolved quicker if a widespread problem.

I also seem to be experiencing constant dropped connections throughout the day - I also need a constant connection for my business and enjoy online gaming in the evenings so very frustrating that the connection goes then comes back. I changed over from the general user to office and have noticed an increase in speed recently but rather go back to the old constant connection!

Hopefully this will be resolved soon!

Every line issue is independent, there are no two issues exactly the same. Whcih version of the DG834G is it, as v1/v2/v3's are not very good on 21CN, whereas v4's are much better.

Hi, sorry about my late reply, I've been away for some time. It is a v3, I've been told by my family while i was away that dropouts seem to be happening less frequently recently, but do still occur, it has the latest firmware on it.

ok, it's just dropped out twice while reading / writing my reply, so clearly it is still going to be a source of frustration, any advice or do i only have the choice of being downgraded or forking out for a new router?

And yes, if it is just Enta's fault and can be sorted in another way i would be happy to stick with ADSL24, I've been with you at 2 different connections, and until now I've had the pleasure of a flawless connection, which i can say is a first in 10 years of ISP's.

Just as a further update, I've just had my first internet session since my original post, I've been using the PC for about 3 hours, which all of was meant to be online, I've been disconnected 12 times, and out of that 3 hours I've actually been able to browser the web 1hr 20mins approx, which to me, is ridiculous.

I'll await your reply James to see if there is anything i can do with my current router, otherwise can i go about being downgraded back to normal ADSL, i presume that would work fine again as it did before?
