View Full Version : Weird Connection issue this evening
Hey all,
Be interested to see if anyone else had a problem similar to mine, I got home from work today and my ADSL was down, checked the Outage areas (not where I am located) so I gave it an hour or 2 and called Entanet, Guy said disconnect router and he'll run some tests. Turned router back on and I was connected, but now with a different IP Address (had a static one before) but now have a different static address?
What the hell? Very odd?
Anyone had similar issues?
Thanks,
Martin

What IP address does your account page say you should have?
static IP (Not The One I Have At The Moment), was just wondering if anyone else has ever had problems similar to this with Entanet? Weird how it was down when I got in today and never had any problems with connectivity before, and now I have a different static IP

I have had this problem too. My IP address has changed. I also had to change the domain part of the username on my ADSL router to connect.
username@adsllogin.co.uk to username@adsl24.net.uk
I've raised a ticket.
Did you have to contact Entanet to get you back online? Bit worrying how out of the blue your ADSL can just go down without any notifications?
The guy I spoke with at Entanet was more than helpful but I just can't get my head around how "a few tests" on the line and then powering my router back up can get me back online with a different static IP. It's like they have created a new profile for me or something??

Hi Lovejoy, no I didn't contact Entanet. Using someone else's broadband, I logged into the "My Account" section on the ADSL24 website and checked the account details. I noticed that they had changed and used the username from there.
I got a reply from Mohsin.
"Enta changed the domain login realms ..without authorising them with us first.
We sincerely apologise for this."
To be polite, I'm quite annoyed! Because of the change in IP address I can't access any of my remote systems. They are locked down to only accept incoming connections from my original IP address.
I *really* feel sorry for ADSL24.
Entanet seem to be on a path to self-destruction by alienating their customer base.
I seem to have lost my Internet connection tonight, I've rebooted the router and still nothing, except syncing at a lower rate this time of night. I've just raised a ticket. I'd forgotten how slow dialup is :(
