I am scheduled to move over from my current provider on 1st May. I was wondering if there was anything I should do to prepare for the switch.
I've heard talk of turning the router off overnight. When should I switch it back on, first thing in the morning? Or should I switch it on, see if I've been switched and if not turn it off again?
There's no need to switch the router off overnight. Your migration may complete at any time during the day (8 a.m. - 8 p.m., I believe). Once you've migrated you'll still be able to log in to your old ISP for a time so it's just a matter of trying your ADSL24 login details at intervals during the day of activation.

Sometimes this is the case - what happened in my case was I came upstairs and my connection had gone red on my router. I put in the ADSL24 details and bang it worked.
Sometimes there is an overlap, sometimes there isn't ;)

Cool, thanks guys.
I'll just leave things alone. I'll be at work all day so I'll probably just leave it and check it when I get in.
If the wife calls me complaining the internet is broken I'll know it's been changed over ;) :D

very easy change over, I was on my pc when it started, my old isp went a little jerky that was all, plugged in my new username and password hey presto just carried on.
Before you change any router settings make sure you have a print out of the troubleshooting part of the FAQ http://adsl24.co.uk/faq.php#18.
I had some setup problems and the answer was in here.
