my connection keeps dropping out

Switched to LLU today and generally it seems faster, which i'm happy with, however the internet keeps dropping out every hour or so for about 5 minutes, is there some sort of stabilisation period before i get constant access?

My speeds are not fantastic, 3710kbps (down) but i was only getting about 1mb before.

Also my router is the DG834G v2, should i change to a recommended router?

Yeah, definitely as the v1/v2/v3 of that model don't handle it very well at all! Get any router on the Broadcom chipset for the best results, with the recommended one being the v4 of what you have now...

Also it can take up to 5 days to all settle down as with any new connection, so don't panic just yet as it may improve.

cool thanks, i might do that.

One question though, if I back up all my settings on this router, would i be able to load them up in the new one, or would i manually have to add all my devices again, ps3, xbox, laptop etc.

I wou;d not recommend it as the new router is a bit different and it will probably mess it up.
