Ok, i have a netgear DG834GT and ive got the DGTeam firmware.
I've been playing with the SNR ratio and wanted to know what the signs are that i've decreased it too much.
When i first got the router, i put it down to 10% and it connected at 6.5-7.5mb but in the evenings the internet dropped, but i was still synced! In order to get the internet back i had to reboot, this caused my sync rate to drop quite abit, and my ip profile. After this i had to put it on 50-70% to get it stable.
I thought it may have been the firmware causing this. So i used the official and used DMT tool, but i thought i would give DGTeam a go again.
Now I've been using my SNR on 40%. and it hasn't dropped yet.
My stats are:
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 5952 kbps 832 kbps
Line Attenuation 35.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 11.2 db 11.0 db
Do you think i can get more out of the line? i would keep lowering it, but i dont want it to re sync in the evenings as it ruined my ip profile before.
*EDIT*
I used to be syncing at 7500 - 8000 something, max ip profile on this line was 6500 (with speedtouch 585v7).
I know its abit irrelevant, my old on phone line (was used just for broadband) maxed out at 8128 with no SNR tweaking, it had 33db attenuation.
