View Full Version : Sync Rate
Since relocating my router to the master socket, my sync rate has been a rock solid 448/7904.
Today, following the earthquake in the area, the power was off for 2 hours or so.
When the power returned and the router rebooted the sync rate was 448/7744.
Why would it change?

...following the earthquake in the area..
Would be my assumption :)
Unless you're synching at the full 8128 it's usual for synch to vary a bit from one time to the next, even without earthquakes......what earthquake??
The slight drop doesn't affect your 6.5 Mbit profile in any case.
Ircsum.
Earthquake???!!!! Just looked on BBC News now - glad no-one was seriously hurt.
As for your sync rate castro, it's perfectly normal for it to change slightly when the router gets a reboot just as Ircsum said. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it starts syncing much less than what you are used to.
So how close are you to where this quake was? Did you feel it?
This morning we left the house in Hythe at 08.00 to go to a bootfair on the outskirts of Folkestone.
We arrived there at 08.20.
We left at 09.30 and got back home at 09.50.
No power.
My first reaction was to curse because I needed computer access
Then I noticed some items had fallen off the shelves onto the floor.
Put the portable radio on and heard the news about a earthquake centred on Folkestone.
Power restored by 10.15 .
Switched on Sky News and it was being reported as a major happening.
Don't know what it is like in Folkestone but we live less than 7 miles away and obviously the quake must have been felt in Hythe but that is about it.
We felt and heard nothing. We were driving in the car.
The strange thing is that during the 1987 hurricane, which really did devastate this area, we were happily sunning ourselves in Spain.
Came home to find fences down, greenhouse flattened and half the roof off.
