With a no doubt obvious answer...

How I stop it nagging me with a popup asking for confirmation everytime I install or uninstall a programme, or make an amendment to the system?

You are probably talking about the UAC click this link and download the norton program, it works well and remembers

You can turn off UAC through msconfig. There's plenty of information about that on the net.

With windows you can turn it on or off but the Norton program keeps it running and allows you to select if you want to be asked or not, it works very well, unlike a lot of Norton things
