hi james could you please have interleaving turned off on my line
thankyou =]
No problem, although it would be better for things like this if you e-mailed us or sent a ticket as forum support is not logged :)

hi james,
ive noticed quite a bit of speed loss since you did this
from about 220kbs to now 140kbs
I would use the ticket system but it said my username was invalid?
Could you please have interleaving turned back on? The pings were the best, just i need the speed more than the low ping =]
thankyou and sorry to be a pest =]
To be honest, it's probably just one of those temporary things. Very rarely will Interleaving actually slow your speeds down - unless you are cutting it fine with the SNR Marin and getting lots of CRC's etc.
Are you sure you want it back on - why not give it a week or so. What test are you using to see the drop in speed?

I can download a file from any server usually at around 220kbs, now i max at about 140kbs even though on my modem i am connected at 2210kbs
Ive had it off for 20 days now, it was great at the start with hardily no speed loss, but now websites take around 3 seconds each to load, where as before they were virtually instant
can you think of anything to fix this problem or should i have it turned back on?
thanks
It could be your profile. If thats gone down to 1500 then you wil lsee the lower speeds. What does www.speedtester.bt.com do?

IP profile for your line is - 1500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 736 kbps(UP-STREAM) 2016 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1391 kbps
Thanks
That's why ;)
your router has reconnected at a rate a bit lower, meaning your profile comes down in line.

its never ever been that low before
will it rise again? it used to be at 3000 or something, i used to get like 330kbs download speed on the 10 day trials. I was having pc problems at the time so my modem was constantly being turned on and off, so i guess bt thought my line couldnt handle it and knocked me down further
is there any way you could ask them to set it to 3000 again and ill leave my modem on for the 10 days?
thanks
p.s. could it be the interleavign stuff which has caused it to go lower?
Constant rebooting of the modem is likely to have led DLM to believe your line is flaky with a consequent increase in the target noise margin & a lower synch speed. If that's the case it won't be reset on request but the target margin is supposed to drop in 3 dB steps after x weeks of constant synch. One way to find what your target margin is, is to check the margin immediately after synch.

Didnt think this was worth another thread so I'll ask it here...Interleave should be turned of my line sometime tomorrow ad I was wondering, Do I need to reboot the router or anything?
Thanks.
If you're going to synch higher then you clearly need to reboot (resynch) the router to get the higher synch speed. After the interleaving has been turned off, of course. ;)
