Hi All,
Just in the process of being released from my 'bargain' 12-month contract with Pipex Homecall after just one month (with no penalties may I add). Their up to 8meg 'unlimited' ADSL Max service performed consistently worse than my old 2 meg with OneTel which was always rock-solid.
Haven't been able to do any online gaming whilst with them - I was so looking forward to the step up but was bitterly disappointed. Don't be fooled by FUP's 'only affecting extremely heavy users' look for actual thresholds. Pipex Homecall don't publish their 1gb/month peak threshold (or that your service is really coming from Tiscali) until you're signed up, then it's quoted by every 'agent' you complain to!
Looking forward to a great service here if the reports and forums are anything to go by. My go-live date is 9 May.
