Greetings all, I'm just wondering what the point in "up to 24Mb" is? I was switched over to the new service on 05/08/09 I have ran some speed tests since, at varying times, and only seem to be getting an average of 1 - 1.5Mbps.
I did once see 9Mbps,for a few seconds, latest test shows;
BT speed tester @ 13:14 17/08/09
Your DSL connection rate: 19706 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 1068 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 16000 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1666 kbps
Namesco BBmax test
Download 1976 kbps Upload 897 kbps
Router stats Netgear DG834G
Synced @ Down-19706 Up-1068
Line Atten Down-6db Up-1db
Noise Mrg Down-6db Up-7db
Distance from Exchange (WWYEO ) 100m, exchange is flagged as green so is not over busy.
I am not flagged as a heavy user according to enta tool. I am connected to the Slough Central, currently @ 81% ( i guess this is the issue? ).
I fully understand that I will not always obtain blazing speed due to traffic and capacity issues, but a throughput of only 10% nearly all the time seems a bit sloppy.
Is Adsl2+ just really pretty rubbish? Or are Enta just out of space on their networks? Or both?
