I see I am not alone! Four plus years on Tiscali BB, but the problems they have with lack of central resource for IPstream customers at peak times has driven me away. That's in spite of losing their ultra cheap Max plus anytime phonecalls for £17.99.

The migration went smoothly with no loss of service at all, in fact it seemed to me that both were working for a short while.

So I looked forward to my first evening with no problems on ADSL24 last night, but unfortunately hit a bad one! So I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that that was a one-off. Super-fast reply from James to my e.mail this morning, which gives all the right signals.

My user name comes from the fact that I sail a Laser dinghy, and before I got my present one I had one which had a number starting with 157 and I have stuck with it! I am retired and also play squash, like cycle touring and am an OU student doing a degree in Modern Languages.

Glad to be here (I think!)

Martin

Welcome to ADSL24, Laser157. Be aware that off-peak period starts at 10 p.m. weekdays (for Home users, 8 p.m. for Business users) and that's the time every leecher on the planet hits the "Download" button, but an obvious impact on bandwidth. ;)

Hi Ircsum, Thanks for the welcome. My service started going downhill at 9.30 so I guess that was not the cause. But I had wondered if there would be a big surge at 10pm and will watch out for the effects of that.

Actually, reading another thread here it seems slow speeds were widespread yesterday due to some Enta/BT problems....may well have been that you ran into.

Yep - James has put a message on the service status blog.
