The throughput has been getting gradually worse over the past few weeks. I would like to know if anything is going to be done about it.

/* BT Speed Test 23/08/2009 - 23:31 */

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Your DSL connection rate: 13566 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 888 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 11000 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1273 kbps

This is by no means the worst it has been. This was taken with Node at 57% and ALT was off. The rotten QOS seems to happen in the area of telehouse-east or somewhere like that, massive great long TCP stalls, up to a second. What is going on?

I can't even see that, penguin, it's so slow tonight. I gave up waiting for it to load and just hit reply and waited and waited until it loaded, now I'll have to wait a good thirty seconds to submit this post :(

The long ping is probably caused by an overloaded interconnect somewhere - big TCP wait.

I have recently started using the Speed Tester and Route Test here:
http://myspeed.visualware.com/servers/lhr.html

This carries far more diagnostic info. The difference between throttling (eg: ALT) and a poor line become far more apparent. I think enta need to increase their capacity as a matter of urgency.

PS. I wish I was hiding in the woods Soreen. Lurking is what I do best.
