Hi there.
I'm happy to be here after a rather disconcerting brush with vodafone. Had been with Orange for over 2 yrs on a fixed half meg line but because Vodafone prices looked good I signed up.
Now here's where I was the silly billy...I didn't grasp the full idea behind the max service, and because I'm lightyears away from my exchange, the whole experience was very, very sad. I ended up with a profile of 250k and I do think it went lower (is that possible??) as I had a stonking throughput of 70kbps for several days:eek: It went to the half meg occasionally, but only to plummet again to the depths of near dial up speeds.
I'm sure the service is great for people who live close to their exchange, but it never was going to work for me.
James saved the day. Took lots of time to explain the whole deal to me and I and now sitting happily on my little fixed half meg line, as stable as a six-legged table.
Vodafone had a 30day cool off from date of order, though on the phone, they seem to have amended that from date of going live. I haven't heard anything more from them..and I don't want to;)
