View Full Version : Usage stats not reset for the new billing month
The Allowance Used stats (from entanet ebilling) for the new billing month is continuing from the previous month. From the looks of things my connection will be dropped to 128k (12.8KB) for exceeding my monthly peak usage allowance. ADSL24's Joe Lockheart says that the XML feed from entanet is broke and it should be fixed within 7 working days. My ADSL24 account shows the new month's usage stats are close to being accurate and according to the stats no where near exceeding. On my entanet ebilling, the peak usage for this month is only 2 days old and also not even close to exceeding the monthly limit. Shall I continue to use the net with the chance of my net dropped to 128k or not use the net and wait for entanet to fix the XML feed problem?

Use your connection as you normally would, All the stats from Enta are FUBAR despite their email last Friday.
Like another member I sought legal advice and their is no way Enta can retrospectively charge for their mistakes
DO NOT WAIT for Enta to fix anything could be a long time
I like to know what ADSL24 James has to say and what advice he has?

I went over my usage this month by more than 1gb NO extra charge
Please note that, where the calculation determines that you have exceeded your total bandwidth availability, from 2nd September your connection will become rate limited to 128Kbps for a further 1GB of bandwidth as per the terms of our products until either your next billing period in September begins or you purchase a top-up, whichever comes first. In the event that you use the 1GB of rate limited bandwidth beforehand, your connection will be blocked until you add a further top-up at the Entanet e-Billing site
Thats the way i read it :-)
In response to Katharita, did you go over your usage by entanet giving you the wrong allowance usage reading?

Thing is though if your router is on i was aware it uses some bandwidth not much but some.
Thats what ADSL24 told me a while back when i questioned my usage stats.
It uses a minimal amount to keep your connection alive.
Are the usage stats still useless for everyone or is it just me thats showing 10x more peak usage than i have used ????
In the event that you use the 1GB of rate limited bandwidth beforehand, your connection will be blocked until you add a further top-up at the Entanet e-Billing site
However, if your connection is blocked, just how are you supposed to get online to top-up at the e-billing site?
:D
This month's allowance used stats have now been fixed and my connection did not drop to 128k even though the messed up allowance used exceeded 100%

Thanks for your email.
Please be advised I have checked your usage on your account and I can
not see that you were reaching your limit for your last billing period
(08/08/09 - 07/09/09). - (even though adsl24 sent out mails saying im just about over my limit)
The usage figures on the ebilling site are correct, therefore I would
suggest that you monitor your usage via the billing site.
I hope this helps.
Kind Regards
Thats from ENTA guys, so use the billing site for bandwidth usage!
I just wish they would fix the XML usage feeds so the correct figures are also correct in the My account page!

office package:
so which of the 2 figures quoted is actually correct for me i see :
Allowance Used: 10.51 / 45 GB
but for the period in question i see peak usage 9.66 GB
which agrees with adsl24 reporting from the feed
