A site which I use a lot as an anti cheat rsource for my gaming server was recently brought down by a massive DDOS attack.
They put up a temporary webpage to give info on the current status. The site was restored early in September but on my home PC I still can only get the temporary webpage. On my PC at work I can get the webpage as it should be.
I've cleared out all temp internet files and flushed the DNS on my home PC but still I can't get on the site.

On my home PC all I get is the page shown on the image below.

Can you please try to connect to http://www.pbbans.com and see if you get the same as me or the full website.

If any of you get the live site have you any idea what I can do to solve the problem.

James Please feel free to move this thread to another section. I only posted it here as I'm on LLU and felt it could be an ISP DNS flushing glitch.

Thanks for the replies.

I normally use Firefox but I still get the same result with IE8.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Might be worth running something like CCleaner.

I've run CCleaner as well as flushing the DNS and manually deleting any temp internet files that I found left over.

This is frustrating the hell out of me as nothing I do allows me to connect correctly to that site. All i ever get is the page i posted the screenshot of :o

Hi DooGie,

1. Are you using 'No Script' In Firefox? Possibly clear the Whitelist and starting again.

2. As you have used CCleaner - you got rid of all cookies.

3. Have you tried on a Windows Forum such as Windows Annoyances (http://www.annoyances.org/). I have used them in the past when I had Windows 98 and they were excellent.

4. Have you checked your puter for any Spyware / Malware etc? The site I have used for information and assistance is DSL Reports Security Cleanup (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/cleanup). You do have to follow 'Mandatory Steps' first by using some clean up methods. ** At the bottom of the page shows how to go back to original HOSTS File.

Sorry, not really answering your problem but just trying to suggest other avenues, by the way I am getting the current page for your web site.

Good Luck - Rhyn

Oliver341 tip worked but I shouldn't have to do this.

Does anyone here know what's causing this issue please?

Update

I noticed that all the images had started showing so deleted the line in the hosts file and all is now well :)
