Hi reading ( speeds to expect by n/rk)
I done a quick check it came back line capable of 2 mb on adsl and can obtain 2.5mb or greater on max
I have asked for 30 home on 8mb max, ( only down load max of 4 to 5 gig month) so I take it I have done right on the order I asked for with the adsl24 isp who seems to be the best isp since sliced bread ( I join on the 10/5) thanks for any reply
:D
Could you post some router/modem stats just to double check. Attenuation, SNR, line length etc.
Hi there :)
Yes, you have ordered the 8 Mb Max package so will get as much as your line can support. As Robbie says, if you can get us the line stats from your modem/router we can give you a better estimate :)

he he all i know is it is a speedstream 3060 line stats?? where and how do u find them please
thanks all else I can say is when i log on it shows speed 2.8 mb although at present im getting 1800 it was when i first started higher but there was squit with speed on my old isp sometimes as low as 45 kbps
I would personally get a router than use that Internal ADSL modem. I've used it personally and concluded it's not up to the job.
But as regards to line stats - I could not find out where they were either - I don't think that modem lets you see them :(

right how do u connect a router and set it up please thanks:D
Suggested router: http://www.dsldepot.co.uk/product_details.asp?idProduct=845 (nice price!) That will be much better than the PCI modem and give you a more stable line. Setting up is easy. As long as your PC has a network card, just plug in the supplied cable from the router to the PC and configure it (we can help)

I have just brought a 802.11g Cable & Wireless Modem ADSL Modem PC Router
off the net new in box ( hope i did right?)
anyway thanks for your help
:)
That will do fine, but I'm not sure that will be much better as I've never heard of it!
A PCI network card costs less than a tenner with P&P:
