Line Stats

Hi

Could someone please tell me if my line stats are good or bad they are as follows:-

---- Down -------- Up
SNR 7.5---------- 23.0
ATTN 22.5 -------- 13
PWR 19.7 -------- 11.8
MAX(kbps)9088 ------ 1104
RATE(kbps)8128--------- 448

As my speed is very up and down i use a linksys WAG54GS router.Any tips or help would be great.

The line stats are spot on. You're on the full 8Meg with a short line.

Please post a result from the www.speedtester.bt.com site :)

Just done the bt speed check results as follows:-



Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2336 kbps

Speed always seems to be around this figure some times less but not very oftern more.

Have just checked my excange status and its on RED i take it this is bad so do i wait till they sort this out before i start using the BT speedtest . could be the cause of my problems?

If your exchange is congested then yeah, it will be slow for most if not all ISP's on your exchange. BT will usually add more capacity to cope :)
