View Full Version : Why?!
Why is it that ADSL24 always seem to have speed problems off and on peak. For the past month there has always been a different message saying they have speed issues and they are fixing it. I thought my old ISP were shocking.
Off peak i am getting amazingly slow speeds YouTube and Iplayer are un-watchable unless i let it buffer for 15 mins.
Come on please sort it out i have only been with you for a year and speeds were perfect at the beginning. What and were did it go wrong?!?:s

Think a lot depends on what exchange you are on.
So they've been downgrading my exchange:o

I'm not a lawyer, but doesn't your contract state that this kind of thing happens and it's your problem?
Why has my speed gradually got worse over the past year? A Year ago i was getting 7000Kbps and around 50 ping. Also there must be a trottle in place as day and night on a speed test i am getting 3894, my line is capable of 7000Kpbs. Also it is only my problem upto the boundary of my house, from there on its BTs.
Ok. i have just ran a BT SpeedTest and i have noticed my IP Profile has been halved from 8000Kpbs. Could this be the problem. How do i/they fix this?

If you are currently syncing at 8128, which I think would be the max for an 8Meg product, and you continue to do so, the profile should rise to 7150 of its own accord but it could take a few days.
The drop in IP profile indicates there has been a fault or noise on your line etc.

At the moment i am only syncing at 4000. i was getting 8000.
At the moment i am only syncing at 4000. i was getting 8000.In which case something has gone wrong between you and BT. You IP profile won't rise until you get a consistently higher sync.
Check out the various guides on this (FAQ) and other websites to try to establish where the problem is.
