Seeing as its past 8pm i'll just make a quick post about a strange thing that happened with my migration today.
the date for activation is today, but as i understand it this is really up to BT if it's on time?
well at 2pm i came back in from college and tried the connection to see if it was working and it connected using my ADSL24 details and had 7750kbps download on the my modem display. then about twenty minutesx later it disconnected and i had to go back to using tiscali details again. i'll give them credit for putting up a fight!
ah well roll on monday. :)
That's odd. You should try your login with us again. If you got connected once, that should be it!

hehe, yeah it is odd, but up in this neck of the woods delays are almost the norm.:)
even my pc has developed a strange delay when i shut it down!

just a couple of noob questions...
i was just wondering, do i need to be around when they are training the line? i have to go away for a couple of weeks at the start of next week so i won't be able to use the connection much if they don't switch it in the next day or two.
should i stay disconnected while i'm waiting for the change over?

is it possible BT made a mistake and think they switched the line on friday when i managed to log in to ADSL24 for a brief period or could it be they found a problem and had to switch back to tiscali?
lol, sorry if i sound impatient, i'm just balking at the the idea of paying tiscali another month.
Dave,
BT say:
our supplier advised order in delay due to exchange equipment problems.
I'll keep you up to date. Looks like there is a faulty bit of kit at the exchange they need to fix

just wondering if there was any news from BT?
i notice that my tiscali account has now been stopped. will this affect the migration?
The review date is tomorrow so I'll have some more news.

i would have thought if it was faulty equipment that was holding up the migration it would be fixed by now.
i also note that the migration date has expired as well.
in a conversation with a friend who works for BT, it was suggested that Tiscali may be reluctant to release my line and that this could be the reason that the migration has failed.
if this was the case is it my responsibility to talk to tiscali or do you have to do that?

don't bother answering - i'll give BT Wholesale a call myself and maybe get some response there...
Hi Dave. It's not in Tiscali's hands as the migration to us is almost done. I called BT earlier and they are awaiting parts from a third-party supplier, so until they receive these they can't do much more. It's not Tiscali doing anything to the line.

thanks.
i appreciate you taking the time to reply. it's very frustrating seeing the same message being given on the BT status page week after week.
I agree - that's just their way of showing its' still open and being looked at. Rest assured this problem would have happened with a migration to any ISP - i.e. it's not us who the problem lies with as you know :)
