Hi all

Am thinking of migrating to ADSL24,
Your service sounds like the new 'pipex' service, which was excellent few years back (well until now...).

Thinking of getting the
Home 30 8 Mbps 448 Kbps 30 GB 300 GB 19.99

i have a few questions:

can i get a dynamic IP? instead of a static one.

does adsl24 allow for custom usage patterns?
looking for a 50GB peak and 200GB off-peak (below £20.
I am not a huge downloader, but i do play online games alot. (15kb/s transfers)

regards
Solway

Hi Solway, welcome to the ADSL24 forum.

ADSL24 do not offer a dynamic IP address - one static IP address is provided as standard, a block of 8 is free or there is a £25 one-off fee for a block of 16. The closest package for your budget is Home 30 at £19.99 per month, which gives 30 GB peak usage and 300 GB off peak usage.

Ho there :)

As Tim says, we only offer static IP addresses. Any reason why you need a dynamic IP?

You will not find anyone that offers a good service with 50GB peak and 200GB off-peak for under £20...

If you have any more questions please ask :)

i feel a dynamic ip has better security on my client side.
a way i can the resetting router to get a fresh IP address if necessary.

Will Adsl24 add the option of dynamic IP in the future?

It is the only reason i am having second thoughts.

My usage on Tiscali ( aka Tiscrapi) over the last few months:
Both peak and off peak.

i do download Microsoft betas once released on MSconnect, so i might go up.

is there a way to set it, so you can be emailed if you reach 25GB on peak?

You do have an option in your My account page with us to set up e-mail reports. There are two options:

Email you a summary each morning, or, Email you when you are have less than 15% left.

We have no facility to offer dynamic IP's as this is set by our network supplier.

thanks for the reply.

if i get abuse on one ip address, for example. Are you able to change it?

You could order a block of 8 IP's for free and alternate between them I suppose....

Why would you get abuse if you don't upset anyone? Of course, everbody is succeptable to port scanning, DDOS attacks etc but they usually come and go.
