im considering switching to the home90 package from the a pipexmax account first question with pipex i was getting 6mb will this remain so with adsl24 second question is, i have read that if i go over the traffic limit i would have to pay the amount for the next package up + 5quid admin fees. so if im drastically under the limit one month down to for instance the home30 would i be refunded the difference? and the last question and probably the most important to me is, is there any traffic throttling of any form at all? thanks for reading this

Hi TSX080 and welcome :)

In answer to your questions, first of all if you are getting 6mb with Pipex, then there's no reason why you won't get that with us. If you can post your line stats eg Attenuation and SNR, then we can get a clearer picture of what your line might achieve.

Secondly, you are correct regarding the fees payable if you go over your cap. You will know best what your usage is on average per month and so it is up to you really to decide which package will suite you best. We do not refund under-use. However, to help you manage your usage you can keep upto date with how much you have used via our 'My Account' page and you can also opt in for daily email usage reports, and/or an email when you are getting close to your limit.

Also, remember that the package you choose eg Home90 describes only the PEAK usage Cap, not offpeak. For Home90 you would have a huge 360gb offpeak allowance. Since our offpeak times are from 10pm - 8am and all of the weekend, a lot of your usage may fall into those times.

Finally you will be glad to hear that we do not do any throttling or port blocking.

Feel free to ask any more questions :)

this is the only info i can find from my router
Operation Data

Data Rate Upstream Downstream
448Kbps 6880Kbps

Operation Data Upstream Downstream
noise margin 17db 7db
Attenuation 19db 23db

my connection speed still fluctuates alot since moving to a max service anything from 5200Kbps upto 8000Kbps im hoping that these figures will stabilize soon as i am waiting on a pre-filtered nte5 master socket and some new rj45 cables :)

Yep, that line is capable of the full 8128 Downstream data rate as it's pretty short lenghth to the exchange :)
