View Full Version : What is your location?
I don't mean what is your exact location, just curious as to where everyone is from. We'll get a feel of how far the good word of ADSL24 has spread to.

Well I'm in the lovely overcast south, but my broadband is *hopefully* being activated in the Highlands of Scotland near Tomintoul - to say its out in the sticks is a bit of an understatement!

I don't think I've anything that needs fixing, at the moment. :)
Still in training and getting a data download rate of 2mbps, which is pretty much as good as I could ever expect, I think, given how far I am from the exchange. Way faster, more responsive and more reliable than my previous ISP (Orange).
FYI a few stats;
Distance to exchange (crow fly): 4.37km
ReceiveAttenuation_dB 57
ReceiveMargin_dB 6
SendAttenuation_dB 31
SendMargin_dB 20
From what I've read in the forum, I'm doing pretty well to get 2mbps. It was only 1mbps before I optimised the phone wiring - i.e. removing socket connections apart from 2 & 5. The connection speed more than doubled after that. It's a top tip!!!
I'm now scratching my head about whether to buy a wireless router to replace the Speedtouch modem ......
Cheers
Andrew
