For some reason during the last 2 months I loose my internet, I click the connect button and it says Disconnected by User.
I have to take the power plug out of the router leave for 15 mins and then pop it back in and I am ok.
It has just happened again (2nd time) 10 mins ago.
Is my router on its way out and should I replace it. Its about 2 years old.
I used to get that with my 585v6 occasionally.
It seemed like if it had a lot of errors on the line and was trying to correct them sometimes it would crash and lock up.
I would have to turn it of for a while to get it to come back on other wise it wouldnt start back up, it would just sit there with the red light on.
If that sounds similar then you might need a new router as mine got more and more prone to it as time went on.

Sounds a bit familiar yes, I click the connect button on he webface and it does not connect, saying Disconnected by user. I was not so sure if this was my internet or the router.
If its the router, any suggestions on what router to buy to suit adsl and adsl2+ when I can get it. I use the ethernet cable.
IMO netgear 834 GT , maybe getting a bit old now but still one of the best routers Netgear ever made , mines an EX sky 8 Quid off E-Bay it's been running none stop for 2 years and never d/connects

There are some but I agree its a pretty tough search. looks like they are discontinued from Netgear but some places will have the odd stock like Amazon,. But in some cases they will also be "out of stock" when you check. ADLS24 sell the 834G and few other good routers.
Or just go for one of the newer models. I prefer Netgear but I'm sure others will recommend other makes that work well like Linksys or Belkin...each have their fans...each have their problems of course.
