Interleaved to Fast mode

From previous posts, I understand that switching from Interleaved to Fast mode reduces ping speeds. Does switching have any detremental effects? and if not, why does BT not have everyone on fast?:confused:

If your line is decent, you won't notice any difference in terms of stability, but you will have much lower ping times/latency :)

It's only for long lines that Interleaving is really useful as it can help stop dropouts and reduce errors.

Thanks for the info James, as i am only 820 Metres from the exchange and my son plays on Xbox Live a lot, could you ask BT to turn off interleaving please.

Thanks James, that`s it done already. Ping to bbc.co.uk has gone from previous average of 43ms to new average of 27ms
