Well...been here with ADSL24 since 1st May and today I get notice from Vodafone that they are billing me via Direct Debit on 4th June for yet another month of their "at home" service.
After a phone call to a bloke who is actually just up the road from me in Derry, they say they made a mistake and will refund me the broadband portion of the bill at £25 but I'll pay the call costs, up to 23rd April when I cancelled with them. Fair enough.
I have to say Vodafone are shambolic. My migration TO them was a disaster in that they took my online application without asking for a MAC code, and then when they found out adsl was already on the line, that order had to be cancelled and then resubmitted to BT..a delay of a day, so no problem.
Then, the actual switch-over was a c*ck-up because of a jumper problem at the exchange, but this took ages to finally diagnose as they seemed to think that I was not able to type in my username and password, and it was MY fault.
Then, there was a proper line fault which took a weekend to fix, so 5 days after activation, I was connected.
Then began the fun....I'm on a long line with 63db attenuation, so you can guess the rest.
Cancelled finally on the 23rd April, 3 weeks after I got connected. They SAY they have released me from the 18 month contract, but today's bill would tell a different story.
I will await the date of their next billing cycle with baited breath, and a large club, ready to storm their billing department...:D :D :D
