Default LLU Low Speed after migrating?

Hi,
I have just switched over to C & W LLU today. Prior to that, I was getting approx 7mb connection via yourself, now I am getting just over 4mb.
Is there a training period on LLU (though that was on BT line only)?

I am using Netgear DG834GT (one that you recommend)
Are they any settings I should be changing in my router?

I wonder why I bothered.
Less than one day with LLU, and now on to my second issue.
Currently (tried on 2 different routers) I am unable to get an IP address.
I have tried rebooting the router(s), and reboot the computer, but cannot get an IP address. I have even tried restoring factory setting on my router.

Can anyone help?

It can take a few days to settle as the DSLAM profile will be being set properly. Although there is no "formal" training period like BT, the first few days may be unsettled and then it will begine to shine. I think you should give it at least a week before being concerned regarding SYNC speed issues etc.

no...I have tried to download it, but the netgear website wouldn't connect to the ftp server.
Just managed to get my netbook to connect to netgear, so downloading it as we speak.
